Spanish tapas restaurant, Bodega on Main, has re-opened after closing its doors over a year ago in downtown Vancouver.
After a closure for renovations, Dunn’s officially re-opened its doors this October, with a newly designed interior which showcases its Quebecois heritage in a much bigger light.
Zend is the only restaurant in Canada to serve kava-based drinks which contains a plant from the South Pacific islands known for its sedative properties to help people feel calm, focused and relaxed.
What I love about the decor and design of this cafe is its botanical-inspired decor, its interior brick walls, and last but not least, the uniqueness of having dual entrances: one from Alexander and the other from Powell.
As the name suggests, the cafe is train-themed – from a train engine serving as its logo, to the booth seating area designed like cabooses. Seating is fairly limited yet unique in that people are sitting and facing one another at communal tables, perhaps designed to create possibilities of meeting new people.
After seeking community engagement and incorporating feedback from the neighbourhood, Lips realized sophisticated sharing plates and international cuisine was not as appealing as initially thought. Thus, they decided to rebrand to cater to the liking of area residents and underwent renovations in September. Village Bistro now offers casual fare with a focus on Canadian comfort food.
