Hosted Lisa Tant, Editor-in-Chief of Flare Canada, and Suzanne Timmins, Fashion Director at The Bay, the fashion show covered upcoming must-haves for fall 2011. The trends were categorized into 6 looks: 60’s Style, 70’s Style, Pattern Play, Vivid Brights, Man Up!, and Boho Folk.
The highly anticipated opening of the Topshop capsule at The Bay was today, showcasing “fashion’s favourite season” with its Topshop Autumn/Winter 2011 collection.
The Bay will be unveiling a Canadian Tosphop capsule within the Vancouver region in mid-September, finally giving us Vancouverites a sneak peek at the latest Topshop collections. The Topshop capsule will be the first opportunity to shop from a temporary, curated selection of the UK-based brand as permanent flagship locations continue to be announced across the country.
The Olympic Superstore at The Bay has been an Olympic retail hotspot! According to CTV News, lineups to get into the store on the corner of Seymour and West Georgia have averaged 20 minutes. Once inside the store, I found the shopping experience was surprisingly civil. The 2010 Olympic Mascots section was surprisingly uncrowded. Could be because I went on a Thursday night and those who stay up past 10pm on a weekday are less likely to be rummaging the children’s section for cutesy mascot souveniers!! Nonetheless, here I am! As my friend pointed out, the Quachi hat I am wearing comes with built-in earmuffs!

Currently open until midnight, the Olympic Superstore is scheduled to stay open for 24 hours next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
VCC’s fashion merchandising students and The Bay present “It’s a Girl’s Life” on Wednesday September 23, 2009 – an event full of fun, fashion, food, and more! The evening’s entertainment includes: music by Joe Swick from Touch Promotions (I went to university with him!), makeovers, Nailpolitan Nair Bar express manis, tarot card readings, beverages and treats, door prizes and more!
