Hosted at the Yaletown location of the Keg Steakhouse + Bar,  Modern Mix Vancouver was recently invited to preview their new summer cocktail and martini menu.    Inspired by the return of patio season, The Keg has crafted 12 unique cocktails and martinis using refreshing herbs like rosemary and mint, freshly squeezed citrus fruits and premium liquors including George Clooney’s Casamigos tequila.

The menu is now available to the public, so head on over to your nearest Keg Steakhouse + Bar to try it out.  For those of you who are more hands-on and love to craft your own cocktails, The Keg has shared with Modern Mix Vancouver recipes from some of their favourite drinks from the summer menu.

The Keg’s Rosemary Gimlet Martini Recipe

1 oz Hendrick’s Gin
1 oz Limoncello
2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
2 4-Inch Rosemary sprigs

  1. Take leaves off of a 4-inch Rosemary sprig and muddle.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to glass portion of a Boston shaker.
  3. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  4. Strain into martini glass over round ice.
  5. Garnish with second 4 inch Rosemary spring.

The Keg’s New York Sour Cocktail Recipe

2 oz Lot No. 40 Whisky
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
2 tsp red wine
Lemon Twist (garnish)

  1. Add whisky, lemon juice and syrup to glass portion of a Boston shaker.
  2. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  3. Strain into a small rocks glass over ice and add small straw.
  4. Float red wine on top and garnish with lemon twist.

The Keg’s Sparkling Peach Martini Recipe

1/2 oz Freixenet
1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
1.5 oz Absolut Vodka
0.5 oz Fresh Peach Juice
0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Floating Peach Slice (garnish)

  1. Pour Freixenet over round ice in martini glass
  2. Add vodka, schnapps, peach and lemon juice to the glass portion of a Boston shaker.
  3. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  4. Strain into martini glass over round nice and add peach slice.
