Rabbitats’ Easter BunnyFest is an adorable weekend fundraising event filled with rescued bunnies, family friendly activities, a craft market featuring local artisan vendors, and educational sessions. Hosted this year at Richmond Lavenderland (8460 Steveston Hwy), admission is by donation with all proceeds towards Rabbitats’ Rescue Society, a volunteer-run charity that rescues and supports feral and abandoned rabbits by paying for veterinary care, finding good homes, and building sanctuaries.
Rabbitats’ Easter BunnyFest was an initiative born out of an alarming amount of abandoned rabbits found on the streets a few weeks after Easter Sunday where parents would gift bunnies to their children who might not be ready to take on the responsibilities of having a pet.
The ticketed event is expected to draw nearly a thousand attendees from Metro Vancouver over the two days. Single day entry is by donation (minimum $5 per person) and attendees can upgrade to an activity package for $15 to keep little ones entertained with face painting, hot chocolate, a swag bag, and a prize draw.
