MARKET: Refresh Market Holiday 2018 Edition in Squamish (Nov 16 & 17)

One of B.C.’s largest holiday craft markets is back. Refresh Market returns to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish for its largest market of the year with 100 local artists, makers, and shops on November 16 and 17.

The market lineup, with a roster that includes 30% new vendors, features a curated selection of handmade and locally designed clothing, jewelry, ceramics, art, vintage, artisan foods and more.  Shoppers can look forward to meeting some of the artists behind their favourite Instagram accounts, including: Anja Jane (illustrator), Sunday Dry Goods (towels), Blume Supply (turmeric latte mixes), Midnight Paloma (skincare),  and Saige and Skye (macrame products).

In addition to the shopping at Refresh, market highlights include Tin Type Trike tintype portraits, crystal and tarot readings, and a coffee and ice cream bar.

Since its launch in 2011, Refresh Market has remained one of the most anticipated “shop small” events for consumers, artists, and designers, and has been a pioneering force on the craft market scene. Held twice annually, Refresh Market is one of B.C.’s leading showcases of independent art and design, and the largest market in the Sea to Sky corridor, attracting thousands of guests over two days. The market receives more than 900 vendor applications annually.

“Refresh is about making conscious decisions about how you shop and who you support.  Squamish is a creative, entrepreneurial community, and we’ve been fortunate to help fuel that spirit by offering a platform that connects local makers with buyers.” – Rachel Boguski, co-founder, Refresh Market.

Artwork for this year’s event poster was designed by Vancouver artist Annie Axtell, and limited-edition prints of the piece will be available for sale at the market.
