Get your lawn chair or picnic blanket ready — FREE outdoor movies are returning to Stanley Park’s Second Beach every Tuesday this summer from July 3 to August 21.
As voted by over 5,000 movie-loving Vancouverites, here are the eight movies which will featured on a giant four-storey inflatable screen in the Evo Summer Cinema Series:
- “The Princess Bride” (1987) – Tuesday, July 3rd
- “Stand by Me”(1986) – Tuesday, July 10th
- “The Lion King”(1994) – Tuesday, July 17th
- “Mean Girls” (2004) – Tuesday, July 24th
- “Spice World”(1997) – Tuesday, July 31st
- “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986) – Tuesday, August 7th
- “Grease” (1978) – Tuesday, August 14th
- “Titanic”(1997) – Tuesday, August 21st
Movies begin at sundown, but get there early to save a spot for your group and enjoy extra fun and festivities which begin at 5pm and continue until showtime. An exciting new addition this year will be the Summer Cinema Marketplace, a carefully-curated weekly offering of local artisans and crafters.

Viewers can also turn their evening into dinner and a movie by participating in the Dinner & a Movie program in partnership with the West End Business Improvement Association. For $35, guests can have a special three-course set menu at select restaurants, and a VIP seat for the movie. Participating restaurants for this year are: Bayside Lounge, Centro, Davie Dosa Company, Grotto, Timber, The Park, and The Three Brits. Spaces at each restaurant are limited to ten each evening so don’t miss out – select your experience soon!
