Gift Wrapping for the Holidays with PAPYRUS

It’s mid-December, and I am quite pleased that I am nearly done my Christmas shopping!  When it comes to gift giving, I agree that it’s the thought that counts.  (I hand-knitted my mom a chunky infinity scarf this year – it took me two weeks to complete!).  However, the reality is, the packaging of a gift, is the first thing people see.  Before your gift recipient even has the chance to see the thoughtful gift you purchased or made for them, they’ll see the card or packaging first.

My Christmas shopping is nearly complete! Now on to Part 2: wrapping gifts and writing cards. @papyrusbrand

So, where to get such supplies to make a thoughtful gift, even better?  Thanks to PAPYRUS, Modern Mix Vancouver was offered a kit of stationary supplies to top off our holiday gifts this year – and a few more festive goodies as well. Friends and family on my ‘nice’ list this year, don’t be surprised if you’re getting a gift from me topped with a card or gift wrap from PAPYRUS this Christmas!

Read on for some of my favourite picks, available at PAPYRUS retail stores in Vancouver:

Marcel Schurman Berry Wreath Boxed Cards ($18.95 / 6 cards)

One-half of the husband-and-wife team that founded PAPYRUS in 1950, Marcel Schurman was inspired by a love of fine art and a vision for products of uncompromising quality that provided the starting point for genuine personal connections. The Marcel Schurman line was the first collection created by PAPYRUS 65 years ago, and the brand was recently resurrected by PAPYRUS and expanded to include boxed stationery, wrapping paper, and gift bags. This cozy set of letterpress holiday cards pairs a minimalist birch wood pattern with a bright berry wreath in a design that feels rustic yet refined. Each card is printed on 100% pure cotton rag paper with soy based inks.

Kraft Glitter Dots Gift Box ($6.95)

When I’m wrapping awkward-shaped gifts or multiple items, sometimes I like to pop everything into a sturdy gift box instead.  With red polka dots and glitter, this kraft gift box is a fun way to present that special gift.  Just top with a ribbon, and you won’t even have to do any additional wrapping!

PAPYRUS North Pole Collection Snowman Plates ($17.95 / set of 2)

This whimsical winter appetizer plate duo of a snowman and snowflake will be the stars at your next holiday party! The set includes a large and small plate – the perfect size for nuts, small chocolates, or mini-candy canes, and great for entertaining during the holiday season.  Alternatively, these would also be great as a seasonal knick-knack holder for small items like earrings, bobby pins or loose change.

PAPYRUS Precious Metals Fine Tip Metallic Markers ($9.95 / 2 pens)

Two deco style felt tip markers, one in silver, the other in gold, make card writing extra enjoyable. These metallic fine tip markers are great for writing on glass or dark papers.  The way the ink squirts out makes me feel like I’m holding a quill brush, (and makes me want to write in cursive, for some reason) and is an alternative to a boring ol’ sharpie.
