vancouver holiday market 2015 - make it

MARKET: Make It! Returns to PNE Forum with 250 Vendors Supporting the Handmade Revolution (Dec 3 to 6)

Make It! started in Vancouver 7 years ago at the Roundhouse Community Centre with only 65 exhibitors. Since then, the show has more than quadrupled in size, attracting over 18,000 annual shoppers. In 2015, Make It will be returning to the PNE Forum from December 3 to 6, 2015.

With over 250 artists from all over Canada, this is the perfect place to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list. Expect to see stylish clothing, gorgeous jewelry, fabulous art, adorable baby items, gourmet food and even things for guys.  More than ever Vancouverites are conscious of where the products they buy come from and the demand for buying handmade has grown exponentially.

The inspiration for Make It came when brother-sister duo, Chandler and Jenna Herbut, saw an opportunity to create a platform for their peers to be able to sell what they make. They wanted to organize a show that was fun, upbeat and acted as an incubator for up and coming crafters, makers and artists. All of the exhibitors are referred to as ‘Makies’ and it’s been cool to see the tight knit community Make It has created over the years.

Vendors for 2015 include: Fable Naturals (skincare), Broken Fog (art & apparel), Market Canvas (leather goods) and Sugar Blossom (jewelry).  Stay tuned on Modern Mix Vancouver as we conduct Q&A’s with local designers participating in this year’s Make It! and share their stories with our readers.
