At the start of the holiday season, Modern Mix Vancouver gave a fashion presentation at Pacific Centre’s I AM DOWNTOWN shopping night about Nine West’s Holiday 2012 trends. In short, if you want to stand out this holiday season, look for pieces that shout out with glitz and glamour. At Nine West, many of their shoes and accessories in the holiday collection consists of sparkles, sequins, a metallic finish and shine.
For everyday wear, consider investing in a pair of flats with a metallic finish. The shoes are festive enough to get you in the holiday spirit, but are ordinary enough to be work-appropriate (…well, depending on where you work). Look for colours like gold, bronze, silver, copper or even rose-gold – these colours are all surprisingly easy to match your outfit with. The Nine West WONTYOU ballet flat retails for $130 and is adorned with a rhinestone faux-buckle.
For a more extraordinary look, consider the ROCHA Pump ($120). This is a classic pointed toe style sold at Nine West, but it’s been jazzed up for the holiday season and encrusted in sparkles. There is a slight front lift platform at the front of the shoe to maximize your height while minimizing your discomfort.
Although mainly a shoe boutique, Nine West also carries a diverse range of fashionable accessories which are aligned with current trends. In the Holiday 2012 season, Nine West has several purses, clutches, and cell-phone accessories decked out in metallics and disco glam. The FLASH LITE small cross body is currently on sale for $35 and would be a festive addition to your little black dress. This small bag is available in black, gold, rose gold and pewter.
