The Fair at the PNE 2011 (August 20 to September 5)

Vancouver’s annual summer fair at The PNE is open now until Monday, September 5, 2011 from 11am until late (weather permitting). Gate price tickets are $20/adult. However, there are several special-offer days at the PNE:

  • Monday August 22nd – FREE Gate Admission from 9AM – 12PM
  • Wednesday August 24th – $5 admission each for Vancity members + 1 friend
  • Saturday August 27th – Whitecaps FC Free Gate Offer.  Fans with game-day tickets to the Whitecaps FC match on Aug 27 will receive free entry to the Fair at the PNE before and after the match.

And, as usual, if you purchase online in advance, or at Safeway or 7-11, tickets are cheaper at $16.80/adult.

Depending on the day and time you go, you’ll be able to catch a variety of live entertainment at The Fair.   For example, the beloved Superdogs are back in its 34th year, with crazy canines that perform fantastic stunts.  The Peking Acrobats are sort of like an Asian version of Cirque du Soleil, with juggling, contortion and juggling acts with an Asian theme.  Meanwhile, DrumBeats is a musical performance with rhythm performances using tom-toms, snares, bass drums, cymbals and xylophones.  For more information on show times and attractions, I would highly recommend looking through a copy of the Fair Guide and planning your day according to which acts and performances you would like to see.
