The second annual Steveston Dragon Boat Festival will be a day of family-friendly fun, entertainment and paddling for paddlers and spectators. The event takes place this Saturday, August 20th at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard (Westwater Drive and Railway Avenue) in Steveston Village. The dragon boat races beginning at 9am. Food, activities and vendor booths will also be opening at that time. Want to try dragon boating? At 10am the general public is welcome to hop on a boat and try dragon boating with a donation to the Richmond Food Bank! By 11am great entertainment on the main stage begins to celebrate a sizzling summer day. See below for a full schedule of events & activities:
- 7:30am – Race Registrar opens
- 9:00am- Dragon Boat Racing Begins & food, activity and vendor booths open
- 10am – Learn to Dragon Boat (boats leave on the hour until 3pm by donation to the Richmond Food Bank)
- 10am – Children’s Arts and Craft tent opens
- 11am – Entertainment on the main stage begins
- 5pm – Racers awards party and BBQ begins
