Vancouver’s The Word On The Street is back for its 16th year with another full free day of indoor and outdoor author events, exhibits, performances, a marketplace, and all-round reading and writing excitement. Festival-goers will find 100+ diverse readings and acts that are all free in a lively environment that includes a marketplace with 150+ interesting book and magazine-related exhibitors. Drop by on Sunday, September 26 (11am to 5pm) at Library Square and CBC Plaza (Homer and Hamilton Streets between Robson and Georgia).

PCConfections_Macarons Do you like macarons? Paul Croteau Confections has been selling macarons, a French almond meringue sandwich cookie with flavoured ganache fillings of seasonal flavours, and other sweets, at a kiosk in Oakridge Shopping Centre since the beginning of August 2010. But at the end of this month, Paul Croteau will be relocating to 1020 Main Street, near Terminal Avenue. The new store will be located directly above Campagnolo Restaurant, where Paul Croteau oversees the bread and dessert program as Pastry Chef. The final day of sales at Oakridge will be Sunday, September 12, 2010.
