Lush Canada: Lush Spa Vancouver Review

Did you know there’s a spa at the back of the LUSH retail shop on Robson Street? I’ve had a chance to try several of their treatments now and each time I am impressed by Lush’s creativity and innovation when it comes to their products and services! Their treatments all use a combination of colour, sound, scent, touch and temperature to create a custom sensory experience.

The Lush Spa consultation area at the beginning of your treatment

LUSH Spa: Synaesthesia Massage

At the consultation at the start of my 80-minute “Synaesthesia Massage”, I picked an “intention” (examples: courage, belonging, energy, resilience, empowerment, peace) which would then determine the course of my massage. Some of the customizations include the colour lighting of the room, the scent of the products, the temperature of the stones used in the massage, and more.

The massage is set to a soundtrack created in-house by Lush’s in-house band, Fresh Handmade Sound Collective, while the strokes of the massage align to the music.

Overall this was one of the most unique spa treatments I’ve experienced. I love how the same service can be different depending on your mood or intention, which makes going to the spa creative, fun and interesting!

LUSH Spa: Validation Facial

The Validation Facial Spa Treatment is a 60 minute facial. Like all LUSH Spa treatments, the products used are fresh, handmade products customized for your skin. About a dozen products were specifically chosen for me and my skin at the beginning of my facial, touching on different textures, scents, and preferred result.

For the treatment itself, there was a choreographed massage (parts of which used hot and cold stones) that went along with a soundtrack created in-house by Lush’s in-house band, Fresh Handmade Sound Collective. For this specific facial, validating words of encouragement were used throughout the treatment, supporting that the idea that you need to feel good from inside out.

LUSH Spa: The Sound Bath

One of their newest treatments is “The Sound Bath”, a 60 minute lymphatic drainage facial which uses music, tuning forks, sound bowls, and warm stones to help you experience a deep state of peace and relaxation.
