In Vancouver, the holidays begin with Circle Craft Christmas Market, a city tradition for over four decades! In 2017, you can expect to browse through over 300 artisans specializing in trades including: apparel design, pottery, wood and metal work, glassblowing, and jewellery-, soap-, and candle-making.
Formed in 1972, Circle Craft is a BC-run artist cooperative dedicated to providing opportunities for craftspeople to connect with the community. The 2017 Circle Craft Christmas Market features artisans from coast to coast, from as far as Winnipeg, Edmonton, Waterloo, Montreal, Hamilton, Halifax, Moose Jaw, Okotoks, and more!
Circle Craft Christmas Market attracts some 40,000 people eager to discover the creations of hundreds of Canadian artisans all of whom are jury-selected based on talent and diversity.
This year, the market is welcoming 50 new vendors to the show, including: Boreal Folk Apothecary, Jumping Creek Pottery, VOILÀ Designs (clothing), Misheo (fashion accessories), Little Rock Jewellery Studio, Vintage Map Co. (pillow cases), Lennard Taylor Design Studio (clothing), Yifat Jovani (clothing), Lisa Fletcher Jewellery, Zoe Bemused Jewelry, East Van Jam, Engin&Dennis Design Studio (glass), and Illo Leather.
In addition, to round out the experience, visitors will find entertainment by local performers, craft technique demos, contests, and the “Budding Artists” open area where emerging artists will introduce exciting and innovative new work.
