Sister Shop is a community-based clothing and craft sale happening at The Biltmore Cabaret on Saturday, April 1st with 100% of proceeds going to support the WAVAW (Women Against Violence Against Women) Rape Crisis Center.
Attendees to this first-time event can shop for vintage clothing and local crafts, in support of a non-profit organization that aims to end all forms of violence against women and provide support and healing to those who have experienced any form of sexualized violence.
The full vendor list is still being confirmed, but so far these are some of the Vancouverites they have on board to sell their goods, with all proceeds to WAVAW: Jacqueline Klassen and her beautiful and minimalistic ceramics, Sydney Gelfer and her macrame goods and plants, and social justice-themed buttons and accessories by Radical Buttons.
“Our primary intention is to raise money and awareness to support WAVAW’s incredible work, but we also aim to facilitate a fun, accessible community space where Vancouverites can come together to do something proactive about systemic violence against women.” – Sister Shop Event Organizers, Amanda Herron and Jillian Oliver.
The event will also feature local DJs, alcoholic beverages for purchase (mimosas, caesars and beer), a feminist merchandise table, and more.
