EVENT: “Light Up The Village” Marks the Start of Park Royal’s Holiday Season (Nov 18, 2016)

On Friday, November 18 Park Royal ushers in the season when it illuminates The Village during the annual countdown ceremony.

Festivities will be open to the public November 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in both the Park Royal South Simons wing and The Village at Park Royal.  The official Light Up The Village countdown will happen at 6:45pm hosted by Marke Driesschen, in the centre of the Village surrounding the spectacular 30’ Christmas tree.

While many of the evening’s activities are free of charge, there will be a variety of special activities, like cookie decorating and face painting that will be by donation via tickets that can be purchased on site for $2 each.  All proceeds will go directly to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation to help further the outstanding impact they continue to have on our community. Additional highlights for this family friendly evening include complimentary hot chocolate, retailer booths, singing trio Fandango, the jazz stylings of Karla Sax and an appearance from Santa to assist in the lighting.

Unique this year, Park Royal has elected to bypass typical interior mall décor to work with their own tenant, Whole Foods Market, who has designed festive arrangements to be placed throughout Park Royal South.

Beginning November 19, Santa officially begins his visits to Park Royal, residing at his new home designed by Urban Barn.    Activities on Saturday begin at 10:30am with face painting and a musical dance performance, in preparation for Santa’s arrival at 11am.  Come early, as the first 100 visits will go home with a signature Lindt Teddy chocolate bear.

If you are looking to beat the rush, this year, Park Royal is offering Santa’s FASTPASS, an online photo pre-order and reservation system.  Every visit with Santa this season will receive a complimentary Lindt chocolate truffle, while quantities last, to celebrate the new Lindt store opening in The Village later in November.
