The owner of Joyride is Claire Mandell, a born and raised Vancouverite. From the time she was 4 years old, Claire has been obsessed with getting her nails done. Claire’s vision behind Joyride is to elevate the nail studio experience in Kitsilano and have style, service and design all come together in one place for the Joyride experience.
Rest your feet on a moroccan pouf, admire a custom-wrapped marble surfboard, relax in the presence of potted plants and succulents, and breath easy with fresh air from Joyride’s state-of-the-art air purification system. With the help of her mother (with whom she shares a lifetime of mani-pedi stories), Claire has designed the Joyride studio to have clean lines, minimalist details and an upscale but approachable West Coast vibe.
Modern Mix Vancouver recently attended the opening celebration of this neighbourhood nail studio. The colour of the night was purple, and attendees were offered mini-manicures with purple OPI and CND nail lacquers. For regular customers, there are six brands to choose from: Jin Soon, Deborah Lippmann, Essie, OPI, CND and Ella + Mila, all selected for their commitment to being either “3 Free” or “5 Free” of harmful chemicals including Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, and Formaldehyde. With 350 colours to choose from at the studio, you won’t have a problem matching your next OOTD to a Joyride manicure or pedicure.
Services at Joyride begin at $30 for “The Joyride”, their signature treatment which includes nail shaping, cuticle care, exfoliation, massage and polish application. If you’re ever in a rush, ask for the same service at ‘super fast Joyride speed’ and the Joyride team will speed up your treatment!
