Local streetwear label #COQOandRICH is opening up next week at thisopenspace in Chinatown for a fashion show and the launch of their AW14 collection. It’s all happening on a Monday night, which is the perfect way to kick of the week.
The brand is “a set of attitudes, habits, and similarities, that form a culture of individuals that express themselves through fashion, style, music and art” say co-founders Shelly and Abid.
The hip-hop inspired label currently produces premium tees in limited quantities, all designed in house. Their collection includes one-of-a-kind graphic tees, crewnecks, and shrits for both men and women. “Tanks, hoodies, and toques are set to be release in the very near future” says Shelley and Abid.
#COQOandRICH has been around since 2012 but only in the last year have they really grown as a brand. The fashion line is only the tip of the iceberg for ambitious founders Shelley & Abid. They’re dedicated to growing the grassroots label in Vancouver, and plan on expanding the lifestyle to elements that influence the garments, including music and art.
The fashion show and pop-up shop is the perfect time to meet Shelley and Abid, grab yourself a limited edition garment and find out more about the lifestyle they’re building. Since it’s a collection launch we also expect good tunes and libations to carry us through the night – as any good fashion show should.
Hours are Monday, November 10 from 5-11PM with a cocktail reception at 8PM and fashion show at 8:30PM. It’s free admission, just RSVP to the Facebook Event to get yourself in. Pop-Up Shop is open Tuesday 12-4PM at thisopenspace (434 Columbia St.) in Chinatown.
