EVENT: Vancouver Farmers Markets’ 5th Annual RIPE Fundraiser (Oct 19)

Enjoy a farm-to-table, chef-prepared, family style feast at the 5th annual Vancouver Farmers Markets’ RIPE Fundraiser on October 19 at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown.  In partnership with Vancouver’s Sustenance Festival, RIPE will feature amazing local food from notable chefs and vendor pairings, while supporting VFM’s markets and community initiatives.

The three-course meal features seasonal food prepared by an outstanding lineup of farm-to-table chefs from restaurants including Edible Canada, Forage, Vij’s Rangoli and Graze. Each chef will be paired with a farmer – Forage with Sole Food Street Farms, Vij’s Rangoli with Crisp Organics, and Graze with Cropthorne Farm – to create appetizers during cocktail hour.

Befitting the introduction of liquor sales at farmers markets, RIPE will also feature local liquor producers. Long Table Distillery and Odd Society Spirits will be on hand mixing seasonal cocktailsR & B Brewery plan to brew a signature RIPE keg for the event, and BC Wine Studio and Earlco Vineyards will present a selection of their Okanagan wines. In addition, the event will include a silent auction and live music.

Tickets are available for $75 at all of Vancouver Farmers Markets’ weekly markets, and online at brownpapertickets.com.  Funds raised will support the Vancouver Farmers Markets, as well as strengthen existing and growing new markets in its efforts to bring healthy, local food to urban consumers.
