With less than 10 days to Christmas, a small group of us gathered together this weekend in support of Beauty Night Society and helped stuff holiday stockings for women and youth in shelters, 1st and 2nd stage housing, drop in centres and hospitals during the #12DaysofXmas campaign.
First we sorted through bins and bins of sample-sized new-product donations, mainly consisting of shampoo and conditioner, soap, moisturizer, beauty products and other hygiene products. Then we went through an assembly-line process to fill the stockings, which were designed by local Fashion Designer, Nancy Perreault and decorated by elementary school children.
Beauty Night Santa’s Helpers dressed as elves then assist in delivering the stockings from December 12-24th. After the final count, Beauty Night executive director Caroline MacGillivray has said that 1,598 stockings will be handed out this year to women in need.
Although Beauty Night Society’s #12DaysofXmas campaign is coming to a close, unopened product donations can be given year round to support the causes of Beauty Night. For more details, visit BeautyNight.org.
