Head to downtown Vancouver this August long weekend for one of the most colourful days of the summer. Every year thousands of pride supporters gather in the streets of Vancouver to celebrate our city’s diverse culture for the city’s 34th Annual Pride Parade and Festival. On Sunday, August 5, 2012 (12PM – 3PM) enjoy one of the largest Pride Parades in the world! More than 650,000 spectators are expected to turn out for this Pride-filled party and parade, with entries ranging from lavish floats to marching bands. The parade begins on Robson Street and ends at the festival site at Sunset Beach. Definitely feel free to dress up for this one – in previous years I’ve seen people with face and body paint, fairy wings, bunny ears, etc. It’s like Halloween in the summer and likewise with the parties that go with it!
