I have consistently been buying and wearing Mavi Jeans, the Turkish denim brand, for the past ten years. In fact, I just bought my third pair of Serena’s (low-rise, super skinny) in a light denim wash. I used to go to Hills of Kerrisdale during my highschool lunch hour, or while waiting for the #41 bus, where they sold Mavi Jeans (not sure if they do anymore), until I discovered their main branch in Yaletown (as a highschool student, Yaletown was not a common hangout area). Their prices have always been reasonable for denim, and there is an extensive variety of fits and colours, all named with corresponding male/female names for each fit.
