If you were at Modern Mix Vancouver’s 5 Year Anniversary & Reader Appreciation Party, you probably visited the Snackbox by Foodee booth at our event!  Snackbox is a Vancouver-based subscription service, which delivers delicious and healthy snacks to your door on a monthly basis and begins at $33/month.

In April’s Snackbox, we received everything from seaweed to to chocolate.  To keep things local, we decided to highlight three Vancouver-based snacks we discovered in our April Snackbox:

  • SIP Soda – Founded by Jennifer Martin, a Vancouver-based food scientist, SIP stands for “Simple, Infusted, Pairings of Botanicals and Fruit”.  We received the Rosemary & Lime flavour in our April Snackbox.  This is a refreshing low-cal drink with an airy, carbonated texture like sparkling water, with a slight tinge of tartness (from the lime).
  • Beta 5 – As the art of chocolate is equally a science, “form-5 beta” is a reference to molecular stability which allows for Beta 5 chocolates to be of the smoothest quality.  We received the 75% dark chocolate bar, which retails for $9, in our April Snackbox.
  • Mellifera Bees – Melissa Cartwright of Mellifera Bees hand crafts honey infusions of exceptional quality.  This unprocessed honey is harvested in and around Vancouver and the fresh infusions (Cardamom, vanilla or lemon) are locally sourced and organic.  It’s funny how once you “discover” a product in Snackbox, you start noticing the product when you come across it elsewhere.  Not long after we opened our April Snackbox, we went to the Got Craft?! Fair and saw Mellifera Bees honey on display.
