GAP – Sprize Card

Surprise!! The GAP has literally turned its retail world upside down with the launch of its “SPRIZE” card. Last week, on a regular Thursday morning, the downtown Vancouver community awoke to upside-down logos, signs, mannequins, and even cars (!!) surrounding the GAP on Robson Street. All this “shopping turned on its head” in preparation to prepare the public for the SPRIZE offering.

With an easy one-minute in-store sign up … the SPRIZE card offers customers an incentive to purchase now, instead of waiting for an item to go on sale. How? If something you buy from GAP goes on sale within 45 days of your purchase date, you are notified by email and automatically given an in-store credit (called “Sprize Bucks”) of the difference in pricing.

Heineken Green Room Sessions – at Pop Opera (November 10)

The Heineken Green Room Session is happening next Tuesday, November 10th at Pop Opera (686 West Hastings). Past venues for this event includes Opus, George, Space Lounge (I went to that one!) and Sanafir. This event deserves a mention because it’s my favorite beer…!

DJ Tiesto – in-store performance & autograph signing (Nov. 14)

DJ Tiesto, the #2 DJ in the world (but arguably the best known) is having an in-store performance and autograph session at HMV Robson before his concert on Saturday November 14 from 5pm to 7pm. Wristband policy in effect on a first come first served basis, and will be handed out at 11:00am that morning. Autographs are not guaranteed due to time restrictions.

I don’t know if this is such a good idea to jam hundreds and hundreds of Tiesto fans into an HMV store. If PNE (where Tiesto is playing later that night) can fit 10,000+ concert goers who paid $100+ for their ticket, a free concert at an in-store venue is going to cause massive chaos at HMV…….This reminds me of when Deadmau5 played a free concert at the Santa Monica Apple Store and caused such an overwhelming response that the police had to shut down his show.

.
Come find out what Shark Truth has in mind to help save the sharks as you join them at their launch event at Wild Rice (117 West Pender Street) on November 19th, 8pm to 10pm, for some fundraising, facts and fun.
