Holt Renfrew is having a “Contemporary Correspondent” search running until May 28th, 2009. Tell them why you should be their Contemporary Correspondent and you could win a $1,000 Holt Renfrew Wardrobe and a Sony Vaio® notebook PC! To enter, submit a photo of yourself or short video, along with a 200 word blog on why it should be you. Two finalists from each city will be selected, at which point they will turn it over to their Facebook fans to select the three winners, based on a series of voting challenges.

Bike The Blossoms 2009
Modern Mix Vancouver hit Bike The Blossoms 2009, as the preferred way to spend a sunny Saturday after a morning of exams. This event, organized by the 2009 Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival and Slow Food Vancouver, offered bikers of all kinds a flower-laden bike route through the city, and many interesting stops along the way. Some of the unique events included an invitation to sample cherry blossom tea at Steep’s Tea, an out of the ordinary cow-milking presentation at Kits Community Centre, and tours through the inspiring urban farming demonstration at City Farmer Urban Agricultural Centre.

“Main Street Swagger” – East Van Fashion Throughout the Ages (Thurs April 30, 2009)
The Main Street Swagger Fashion Show is a collaboration of local companies like Hotbox Accessories, Scout Boutique, Thriller Shop, Lace Embrace, and Pesky Peacocks. Head down to this event on Thursday, April 30 at the Rio Theatre (1660 East Broadway). The doors open at 8PM and show begins at 9PM. Be inspired by East Vancouver fashion through the ages with the Main Street Swagger Fashion Show. Expect “decades of decadence” all in one night, with fashion styles involving hipsters, scenesters, retro vintage, pin up girls, 80’s pop, hip hope, skater boys, fetish wear and more. Tickets are $7 and are available at the door or in advance at Hotbox Accessories (2560 Main Street).
MONTECRISTO Monday – Skoah Skincare Training

In the lounge of their Yaletown spa, Andrea chimes in, “What prompted us to start Skoah, was how uncomfortable we both felt at spas that didn’t ask us questions about our skin, or explain what products they were using, and why, before they lathered us up.”
