Harajuku Lovers Fragrance (by Gwen Stefani) – free samples here

Love. Lil ‘Angel. G. Music. Baby. What do these five things have in common?? They are all the names of scents from Gwen Stefani’s new Harajuku Lovers Fragrance!

I remember Gwen Stefani back in the day when she still a part of No Doubt (Spiderweb, I’m Just a Girl, etc.) and it’s great to see that she has expanded from her punk-rock-ska brand into her own one-woman show….picking up along the way a strange obsession with a “fatal attraction to [asian] cuteness”. She is truly a well-rounded entrepreneur, with her bag and clothing line L.A.M.B. (Love Angel Music Baby) and it was no surprise to see that she has now expanded into fragrances.

I am super excited to be one of the 50 female bloggers in Canada to receive an exclusive Harajuku Lovers Fragrance kit in a promotional blitz by the word of mouth marketing company Matchstick. This is not my first experience with Matchstick; I had previously participated in a campaign for O.B. Tampons with them :P. Anyway, this morning, a big box was delivered to my front door containing a whole bunch of Harajuku branded items (cutesy cosmetics bag, lab samples of all five scents, etc.).

Here is my personal take on each of the five scents:

  • Love– Flowery.
  • Lil ‘Angel – Fruity. Like pineapple juice.
  • G – smells like Malibu Rum. Tropical, but not in a fruity way. Think sunny skies, coconuts, tanning lotion and sunscreen. I got the full-sized bottle of this so I have the most to say about G.
  • Music – Sweet and flowery.
  • Baby– Appropriately named – it smells soft like baby powder.

…and of course, there are perks and free samples for my Modern Mix Vancouver readers! Click HERE to get mini samples of all five scents of Gwen Stefani’s new Harajuku Lovers Fragrance! Or come find me in person! As a warning, when you get your samples, don’t smell the entire package at once otherwise it’s way too overbearing! Take them off the cardboard and enjoy one scent at the time.

  1. I went to Macy’s today to check them out. You’re right. By the time I sniffed the fourth bottle, they all smelled the same and I had a headache. I’ll have to check out the L’il Angel one next time.
