The Paralympics are coming to Vancouver and it’s not too late to get stylish Olympic gear at a discounted price. Aritzia, a 2010 Olympics clothing sponsor, is having a fabulous sale (20% to 50% off) on most of their Park Life clothing.

The “Snooze You Lose” sale at Aritzia officially starts today, February 4, 2009. I checked out the downtown locations this morning, and saw silk skirts for $50, ribbed beaters for $10, slight discounts on the TNA hoodies, reductions on winter coats, but not much of a price reduction in terms of new stock. In fact, if you’ve been to Aritzia in the past week or so, items have already been put on sale and even though the official start (according to posters around downtown) is today, prices haven’t been noticeably cheaper than what they were in the past week.

Old news, old news, but I wanted to point out that Aritzia has just recently opened its new flagship store location on the second floor of Pacific Centre in Downtown – right in time for the Christmas shopping season! I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet though… have you?

2009 marks the 25th anniversary of Canadian fashion retail chain, Aritzia. From now until Sunday November 22, they are having a sale to celebrate this occasion. I stopped by the Pacific Centre branch today and I didn’t think there were outrageously good deals. The usual 10% off house brands (TNA, Talula, Wilfred, etc.) The best deals I came across were 30% off UGG Boots and Rock & Republic Jeans for $150.

It’s that time of year again! I’ve gone every year for the past __ years and have always ended up buying great items rom the Aritzia Warehouse Sale. It’s my favorite retail chain – if I’m going to buy things at full price anyway, I might as well save some cash and shop on sale. My cousin and I have lined up at 6am for the past three years – it’s tradition! We come prepared with magazines, a mat to sit on and playing cards. Below are the times for the 2009 Artizia Warehouse Sale at 611 Alexander Street:
.
THURSDAY, SEPT 3: 8AM-8PM
FRIDAY, SEPT 4: 8AM-8PM
SATURDAY, SEPT 5: 10AM-6PM
SUNDAY, SEPT 6: 11AM-6PM
MONDAY, SEPT 7: 11AM-6PM

This is the most fashion-relevant BC American Marketing Association (BCAMA) event that I have come across. It’s early though – 7:30am at Four Seasons Hotel (791 West Georgia Street) with speakers from Bootlegger, Aritzia and Westcomb. The MC is blogger Craig Long of The Commodified (who is now the assistant editor of MONTECRISTO Magazine). On site registration price is $52.50 for non-BCAMA members, $40 for members and $25 for students. I’ll be there if I can get up early enough….. Click here for details.

Despite the crazy Vancouver weather, spring is almost upon us and that means getting rid of the heavy winter parkas and exchanging them for a lighter option. Ironically, this new piece in my wardrobe came from raiding my mom’s closet before she left on vacation. A black, three-button tailored, “longer-than-average” BCBG blazer which can only now be labeled as a “boyfriend blazer”.
Occasionally described as retro or vintage, my personal description of The Boyfriend Blazer is more “stylish corporate”. This fairly new label in the fashion world allows a casual outfit to be dressed up with added style, without feeling out of place. Continue reading for five ways to wear The Boyfriend Blazer.

It’s that time of year again! The Aritzia “Snooze You Lose” sale started today, February 5th with 50% to 70% off select fall and winter merchandise. Keep checking this space to see what good deals there are as I make my way downtown to see what I can find! However…I’m slightly skeptical because I’ve noticed that Aritzia has been having big sales in the post-Christmas weeks already so I wonder how much more discounted their stuff will be….
.
**Update** So I checked out the sale and it’s nothing spectacular – other than the fact that the peacoat I bought two weeks ago is a hundred bucks cheaper. But the rest of the sale is sort of random, at least at the Robson branch. A lot of variety of clothing on sale, but few sizes and colors so you’d be lucky if you found something exact.

I love Wilfred Clothing! – my favorite in-house brand at Aritzia, aimed between women ages 23 to 35, which debuted in February 2006. I am super excited that it got its own website and I wanted to share the link with the rest of Vancouver: www.wilfred.com. Their current layout features styles and clothing items from Fall 2008. From my observations – lots of dark colors and layering pieces. Enjoy!
