Canadian Cancer Society – Daffodil Day (April 9, 2010)
“Hope glows in a little yellow daffodil pin. Do you have a loved one fighting cancer?” Florals are in fashion and this season there is no better way to wear the floral trend than with the Canadian Cancer Society’s yellow daffodil pin. On Daffodil Day, April 9, 2010, proudly wear your pin and show your support by letting those with cancer know that they are not alone. This daffodil pin was just launched here in B.C. and is expected to launch nationally next year, so trendsetters will want to jump on this look early!
The daffodil pin is available by donation, enabling everyone to give courageously. Donations from every pin will be dedicated to supporting people living with cancer, funding research to outsmart cancer and preventing cancer before it starts. And one thing every fashionista should know is that supporting an important cause is always in season!
Also, on Daffodil Day, show your support and stop by Fountain Square at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Members of the public are invited to show their support for friends or family facing a cancer journey as part of this event. The annual daffodil campaign is designed to unite our communities in the fight against cancer; remind British Columbians that there are many ways to reduce the risk of cancer; and encourage courageous giving so the Society can continue to invest in outstanding research, deliver caring support programs and lead prevention initiatives. Opportunities to add the name of a loved one to the Field of Hope start at 9:00am The official festivities are from 11:30am to 1:00pm.
