Exercise to Work Week (August 24 to 28th)

MMV fitness writer Alicia Woodside is probably one of the most active people I know! With a vision of encouraging Vancouverites to live healthier, active lifestyles, combined with a desire to “go green” and save emissions, Alicia encourages everyone to consider participating in Exercise to Work Week.
During the week of August 24-28, 2009, experience the human-powered way to work. The most satisfying commute there is, going human-powered allows you to get to work on zero emissions, and a fine accomplishment. Transfer the effects of your commute from the environment, to beautifying your body! What better way is there to save emissions, when you can work-out in the process?
The beauty of exercising to work is that it doesn’t limit your options of how to get there – whether you walk, bike, run or even dance to work, as long as you are burning calories and saving emissions, you have done your part for Exercise to Work Week. Share your story on the Exercise to Work Week website, with the distance you traveled (using Google Maps), and Alicia will help you calculate the emissions you saved! Lastly, by sharing your story, you will be entered to win a brand new Apple iPod.
