Mavi Jeans – Dress in Good Conscience for Breast Cancer
October is breast cancer awareness month and Mavi Jeans is jumping on board to help this charitable cause by developing a special edition “Dress in Good Conscience” t-shirt. Now, here is further infomation about the BC/Yukon Region of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (unrelated to Mavi Jeans). The CBCF was established in 1992 to make a difference in breast cancer and breast health for BC women. Every year the organization, along with its donors, sponsors and partners, raises funds to support unique and innovative initiatives in prevention, early detection, treatment, research and health care workforce issues.
Their next upcoming event is a luncheon event on Thursday October 30, 2008, at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver (900 West Georgia), marking the CBCF’s 17th annual awareness day. British Columbia’s brightest minds in cancer prevention, care and research will shed light on the mysteries and myths surrounding the disease when they sit on a panel before more than 700 survivors, fundraisers and luncheon guests as they work towards a goal of breast-cancer-free society by the year 2020. Tickets are $99 per person or $990 for a table of 10.
