Faubourg Celebrates Macaron Day with $1 Macarons and Proceeds to Charity (March 20, 2015)

Faubourg Paris, Vancouver’s trio of French boulangerie pâtisseries, is celebrating Macaron Day on Friday, March 20 by giving back. Faubourg will offer its signature Parisian-style macarons for $1 each (half off the regular price), match every dollar of macaron sales and donate 100% of gross proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society.

“We wanted Faubourg’s participation in Macaron Day to have a positive and tangible impact on the community.  This means more to us than simply spotlighting our most popular product. Rather than asking customers for donations, we’re giving them a deal, matching profits, and dedicating every cent to a very worthy cause.” – Franck Point, Owner, Faubourg Paris

Started by Parisian pastry chef Pierre Hermé in 1995, Macaron Day has earned international recognition and become an annual event in many countries. 2015 marks the 4th year Vancouver bakeries and pastry shops are joining the international celebration of this traditional French delicacy while raising donations for various local charities.

Faubourg macarons are akin to those enjoyed during Hermé’s first festival in Paris. Lovingly crafted by hand to meet the highest French standards, Faubourg macarons are as artful as they are delicious. Faubourg’s current selection includes:

  • White Chocolate & Passion Fruit
  • Cappuccino
  • Salted Butter Caramel
  • Strawberry Black Pepper
  • Lavender Earl Grey
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Tahitian Vanilla Bean
  • Raspberry Rose

Visit any of Faubourg’s three locations in Kerrisdale (2156 West 41st Avenue, Vancouver), Downtown (769 Hornby Street, Vancouver) and West Vancouver (792 Main Street, Park Royal South, West Vancouver) on Friday, March 20 to join in on the Macaron Day feel good festivities.
