EVENT: Woman2Warrior Charity Obstacle Adventure Race (Sunday May 24)

The British Columbia Lions Society for Children with Disabilities is uniting women from across the province as they register for the 3rd annual Woman2Warrior happening Sunday, May 24. The women’s-only charity obstacle adventure race helps raise funds to send over 800 kids and young adults with disabilities to one of three accessible Easter Seals camps in BC.

Woman2Warrior is an untimed, five-kilometre run that challenges participants to hit the trails, track and grass around Burnaby’s Central Park and Swangard Stadium. With a dozen obstacles designed to test strength, agility, balance and endurance, the entire experience is nothing short of an adventure.

“Our goal with Woman2Warrior is to raise funds while immersing our amazing competitors in a fun, supportive environment.  It’s about the experience, not the competition. It’s about pushing boundaries, trying something new, and getting out of your comfort zone – much like our Easter Seals campers.” – explained Amy Kleckner, events manager for the BC Lions Society

Warriors participate as individuals or in teams, with each person required to fundraise a minimum of $300. Registration costs $35 per participant (save 50% with promo code W2W50 before Tuesday, March 31), and includes a technical shirt, finisher’s gift, access to indoor group training sessions and prizes for the top overall fundraisers and best costumes.

Registration for the 2015 experience is now open at woman2warrior.ca.  At last year’s event, more than 400 participants helped raise $158,700 in support of Easter Seals.
