Born to Style – Win your Tuition to the Aveda Academy

Applying for school can be a long and tiring process but for those looking for a career in the beauty industry, the Aveda Institute has created an unconventional scholarship contest that allows candidates to have a little fun.  From now until March 1, the Aveda Institute Canada will be accepting applications to their scholarship program Born to Style. For the second year in a row, this contest will give talented candidates across the country a chance to full scholarship with the Aveda Institute & Academy Salon.

To enter the contest, users are asked to submit a video showcasing their talent and passion for style. Five submissions are then chosen for scholarships across the country at academy salons in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto and a final runway showdown. To reward the creativity and passion of candidates across the country, the contest prize is made up of $65,000 including gift cards valued at $150+.

The Born to Style contest is currently accepting early submissions until March 1. Runner ups will get a chance to meet the creative minds behind Aveda including President & CEO of Aveda Canada, Ray and Civello Melissa Hill , Salon Magazine Editor-in-Chief.

With 7,000 salons, spas, institutes and stores worldwide, Aveda graduates go on to represent a network of individuals committed to environmental responsibility and leadership.  Not to mention looking absolutely great while doing it. Need some inspiration for your video? Check out the 2011 candidate submissions here.  To vote for your favorite candidates or to learn more about the contest visit borntostyle.ca or drop by the Aveda Academy Salon in Gastown at 111 Water Street.

We can’t wait to see the final submissions showcasing some of the amazing talent across the country (with extra love going to Vancouver candidates, of course!).
